About Us

I have been involved with building and showing cars on the local circuit for over 35 years. I have owned/showed everything from Corvettes, monster trucks, Pro Street cars to my all time favorite - a 1969 Shelby GT-350. As my two daughters, Kim and Kelly, got ready to go off to college the car craze slowed down as finances were redirected to educational pursuits. However the passion never died.

After they both graduated from college it seemed like there was always something else occupying my time so the car pursuit was on a back burner. Then in late 2009 things changed. My wife Joni's grandparents had owned/operated Weber Trucking in Tonawanda for many years - selling it in the mid 1960's. We had always said if the building ever became available we would try to reaquire it. In Sept 2009 the building became available and it is now back in the family. The car passion was rekindled and R'nR Auto detailing was born. The business logo is a tribute to the past Weber trucking business combined with the new "Rods n Rides " auto detailing. It is family owned and operated. My wife and daughters work in the shop as well as my father Bill. The girls do anything from floor mats to "wax on,wax off" . Joni is quality control. Nothing leaves the shop until it has her stamp of approval.

Also working for me is my nephew Jeff Hy. He is a graduate of the auto body curriculum at Alfred State and worked for "The Car Shop" in Springville for several years. He is an award winning paint and body man with some of his work being displayed at the SEMA shows in Las Vegas. He brings the new school perspective to the shop which offsets my old school mentality. He also campaigns the R'nR road race motorcycle on the Canadian road race circuit.

We detail everything from cars, motorcycles and boats to RV's using Turtle Wax products. We also offer heated winter storage for cars and motorcycles.

Future plans call for expanding the business to a Hot Rod shop where the average "Joe" can learn how to build a rod/ride that fits his budget and can also rent the space to do it in.

Passions and dreams never die - they just take time.
